For some reason, that strong hot lighted area takes away from the kid's expression for me. I wish it didn't have those blown highlights.

ps. why validate? I do this with my kids all the time...

Great espression, but too much shadow on his face and nothing is clear enough.

The boys left hand seems strange ( maybe the angle ), could look better with a little dodging and burning as the childs face seems too dark. Slightly out of focus.
