 My guess is that we all know each other's pets by now -- so much for anonymity :)

My cute model Bikkie, 2 1/2 year old black tri Australian Shepherd.

Cropped, adjusted levels and saturation, dodges out distracting background, burned and dodges fur, USM, and boosted contrast. Added thin border and saved for the web.

I love this photo! i love bikkie! She is a very good poser :) I think she is the most beautiful dog i have ever seen.

This fellow looks like my Opie, only with more true Aussie character to his face. Opie's muzzle is a bit longish for an Aussie. Also, this is a better photo. :D



oops! I see now Bikkie is a girl not a fellow. So sorry...:D

What intensity in those eyes. The clarity is tack sharp. The perspective is nice as if he's a bit "over you," which I like very much. Dog shots are one of my favorites! Well done.

The only issue I have is it would have been better if you focused on the eyes than the nose. Otherwise this is a great picture. I have to Aussie/Border mixes, so I am very partual to any photos of these dogs.

BIKKIE! Cute name, adorable dog! Love the colors, the light the everything, just about. One tiny, little nitpick thing, the background, instead of complimenting the dog seems to fight for attention, just a little too bright. But otherwise, if the DOF had extended to the eyes so they were also in sharp focus this would be close to perfection. As is, a 9, I'm sorry.

This is my second go-around =) - Bikkie is a Cutie! I would only suggest next time focuisng on his eyes... in pet portraits people tend to focus their cameras on the nose instead of eyes, however, when people look at the portrait their attention goes to straight to the eyes first. If the eyes are out of focus then the portrait doesn't look right. Otherwise, great job!

Sharp picture, but I would try to keep the focus more on those beautiful eyes than the nose. Easier said than done with animals though.

Bikkie is cute and a good model! However your focus is short, so I'd have focused on the eyes and tried to get longer focal length by using something like f11+ and a slower shutter speed to bring the nose in sharp too. Great colour and good framing/angle.

Great looking dog. Love the colors in the fur. Your lighting is very nice here. I would only of liked more focus on the eyes and less on the snout. :) Best of luck, good work.
