Challenge: Rubber Ducky (Basic Editing III*)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: Kohler, WI - our bathroom
Date: Apr 1, 2005
Aperture: f10
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Humorous
Date Uploaded: Apr 1, 2005

Five grapes were halved with zig zag cuts. The grapes and duck were placed on a blue board. A blue background was taped to the back of the shower and the shower adjusted to provide a sparkling rain effect.

The board and duck were sprayed with water and the scene was lit with an SB-800 flash in commander mode from behind to illuminate the "rain". A tungsten light was turned on from above and a hand held flashlight used to add illumination to the halved grapes. The aperture was at the minimum f10 allowed for maximum depth of field. Used the Sigma 105 2.8 Macro lens. Cropped, slight adjustments to saturation and levels, resized and saved.

This shot was executed with the help of my daughters Nicola and Laura who arrived today to stay with us for a week! Thanks guys for the inspiration and creativity :)

Nice deco-work. I like the bokeh effect on the background. The composition is too static though. 6.

How do you make grape flowers? That alone is worth the price of admission.

Somebody has a little much time on their hands, I think! Or do you have a talented sous chef in the house? Unique! =)

Your idea, and composition are good, but I don't see light on the front side of the duck. Great title...

great use of the grapes. I like the shimmery background too. focus is pretty soft overall, however.
