The image is great, but just misses the mark of what you stated as your goal. I feel the goal of 'to capture the feel of those who remain behind in mourning' would have been better served if there was something in the frame to indicate it was a memorial/tombstone. Move the young lady a bit to the right and include any writings that may be there in the negative space on the left, and I for one would have seen your intention more clearly.

I'm sorry to see your beautiful photograph did not score higher. This was really a creative entry achieving an interesting effect without photoshop. I look forward to seeing more of your shots.

This image has SO much potential, but it is largely untapped. Iunderstand what I'm seeing here, the reflection of a person in a polished granite tombstone, but the overall muddiness of the rendering is offputting, and the marks in the granite seem more like imperfections overlaid on the image than an integral part of it. I'd think soem careful use of levels and USM could work very well here.

If this is truly in granite on a stone it is amazing! If not you did a good representation of it.

Upon first look I thought too close. Now I read the title and think differently. Nice work and unique idea.

the reflections in headstones can be dramatic. Ilove the creativity of this but as ever in DPC it may not be appreciated because it is outside of the mainstream. Good luck

I really like a photographer that takes risks. THIS was worth the risk. Congratulations on a great photo!

At first I thought this was a shot with added grain/texture. By your title I see it was on the stone. Interesting I have never seen that before. Maybe this would of scored better if we could of see the stone it's self?

This would have been a winner in this challenge if you had the tombstones writing visible with the reflection. Very good
