Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Cemetery (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Location: cemetary near SEATAC airport, Seattle.
Date: Mar 22, 2005
Aperture: 3.5
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/30
Galleries: Urban, Emotive
Date Uploaded: Mar 27, 2005

Lens: 28 - 135mm, at 28mm. HAND HELD in the gloom!

This is a small building in the cemetary, the outside covered in granite tiles (with names and dates), I assume the urns are inside the wall behind the tiles.
Then the inside, subdued and tastefully done. Glass display cases covering every bit of wall. Many photos or memorabilia next to the urns.
I found this much nicer than standing outside in the weather staring at an old stone or plaque.

Technically this image is nothing to write home aboyut. It seems oversharpened and underlit to me. BUT it's an absolutely unique image in this challenge, and I commend you for finding it and entering it. A bump for that.

This is my second go-around =) - your photo looks good, it just really does not stand out to me. However, I like your take on the challenge and I think you have a good idea here =)

I am making two passes on this Challenge. I will vote on your photo then return later(before voting is over) to comment on what I like and dislike about your shot. You can take the comments however you wish and I will try not to be mean. Just don't take it the wrong way.

Way too busy and the reflections in the glass kill it. No pun intended.

The use of a polariser here would really help to reduce the reflections in the glass.

This is definitely one of the ugliest photos of the competition. Yet, somehow, I think this is exactly what the photographer had in mind. I imagine this will finish very near the bottom, but because this is the direction toward which everything in our lives is headed I must rate this at least a 7.
