Thanks Kylie. I agree about the "busy"-ness. That is one of the reasons why it did not go into the Architecture Challenge for which it was shot. It was still pretty light out The sunset, and it was more muted than this saturated version, was on the thin lines of the rear facade of the building. But because of the light, there is the faint blurred city scape behind the structure. In fact if you look close on a larger version, you can see the faint outline of the Walt Whitman bridge as well as other structures. If you want, I can send you a larger version which may help. Apart from that, there was steam coming out of a vent in the building on the back which muted the detail of the wood lines at the bottom. |

I adore the basic lines and colors in this one, but something is bugging me. I don't think I know enough to identify exactly what it is, though. THe colors perhaps too close in tonal range or muted?? A little too "busy"? The most sriking portion to me is the cleary defined steel arches on the left. |
