Just wanted to share the incredible, lush growth in the Sonoran Desert this year. It is one of the greatest spring growing seasons in many years.

This image was captured at the end of a perfectly awful morning taking pictures while hiking. I had one of the most horrible allergy attacks in my life. It was so bad that I lost my glasses and did not even know it because I could not see with or without them. Tearing eyes felt like acid on my face. I spent over two nightmarish, allergy-filled hours looking for them. I had to review, in camera, the pictures I took to backtrack off the trail to where I had been to finally find them.

The beautiful, peaceful scene here contradicts the nightmare I had just went through.

It contains 10 nearly horizontal Suguaro cacti arching skyward, a connection to the challenge I did not notice at the time. To get that many without any angled ones in the same frame is rare. That is what I noticed. I composed the shot specifically so that no one cactus would overlap another.

Nice clarity here, and exposure seems just right, even with my Mac monitor (which is a bit lighter). I like the composition, though some would like a stronger point of interest to be somewhere. To me, it's nature and natural, but it retains balance. My eye tends to end up on the far left cactus since it is the most interesting of the several presented. 8

I like it. It's a refreshing change from stark architectural lines.

neat subject, I would have liked to see it shot at sunset or sunrise to give it a more dramatic effect, and it would be nice to zero in on one of the subjects, because there is not real piont of interest here.
