 Editing: Crop, levels, contrast, noise removal, resize, unsharp mask, use blur tool on background, sharpen tool on bird beak and some of the cattails, more contrast, save for web.

Used the Canon 28-135 IS lens for my Rebel. I use that lens for most things.

There are hundreds of Red Wing Blackbirds flying around and singing right now. They love cattails.

This is gorgeous. Good capture of the (red-wing black?) bird - looks like he's yelling at you. Very sharp, tight composition.

OK, going out on a limb here (or cattail/bullrush) red-winged blackbird by Sonda?
Nice take on lines but feel a little too much detail is lost in this shot.
