This is one of the only truly surreal shots in the contest, and one of the two that I gave a ten. It's great to see a fellow Sony DSC-F828 owner doing such great work ;)

Strange. I don't know which elements of this picture are real and which are painted. Is that ladder really standing there? Bewildering. 7.

The ladder is spectacular as is the treatment of floor and walls. I like the reflactions and refractions and the colors. What this might have to do with Darwin at any age is lost on me. A 10l

Colours are rather dull and contrast is wierd. Composition could've been a little tighter. Intriguing idea, which i do not understand... this is not surrealism. 4

Kind of mirror's the ascent of this photo once I made the connection. It started at 3 and I think it will finish at 6 or 7 on my scorecard. What I don't like is that it looks like a photo of a stage set. And it doesn't have a strong link to the subconscious, IMO.

I like that the ladder appears to be underwater powerfully evocing the 'Ascent of Man' . It's very clever, and cleverly photographed.
