Yes, he did take some portraits and color shots, but in my opinion they are not what define his style. Everyone experiments, but one's style is what is common and familiar. If every type of photo someone ever took were included in a description of their style, then every photographer would have essentially the same style. In my opion, what defines Ansel Adams' STYLE is high contrast outdoor black and whites, not every photo he ever took. I do like this shot though. |

Nice portrait with good focus on the eye and good detail. The forehead seem to be a bit blown out on my monitor, other wise a good exposure. |

Hey, someone dared to try a people picture. Good for you. I like the skin tones and the detail in the eyes. Lighting is good. Depth of field is good. Is it in the style of AA? That's the hard part to decide... Good luck in the challenge! |

Strong, directional light, texture in skin, simple and uncluttered image. These match what little I know of Ansel Adam's portrait work. It's a beautiful shot. Thanks for going out on a limb. |
