I like the way the subject(s) fills the frame and spills out of it.

I hear that! Nice macro, although I think more diffused light might have brought out the detail without the harshness the sidelighting produced. Funny that the one penny on the UR hotspot is right side up.

Nice shot -- I think this would be really cool printed HUGE. I recently shot some coins myself for a project, and I know that the lighting can be a pain. (I wonder if it might be easier to shoot "older" pennies that aren't so shiny...anyway...) Those highlights are really hot, I wonder if it's possible to tone them down a bit. Hard call to make though, because they are important for helping define edges, so I don't know.

Composition- No paticular center of interest. Makes you take it all in at once. Background- Use of layers for background interesting. Technical- Very good, perfect exposure and focus. You obviously took a lot of care in placement of these pennies. Overall Impression- Nothing here to draw you into this picture, while its technically very good, the subject is lacking something, meets the challenge well. I like the way you not only placed the pennies tails up, but they are all facing different directions, so no matter which way you turn this some of them are upside down.

It looks like my life savings, too. It's a clever idea with nice detail.

Nice lighting, and I like the monochromatic coppery color. I guess it's the "tails" side, but I wonder if people don't get the upside-down-ness of it.

Tails vs upside down tough call on that. I can relate on the subject :)

Interesting shot, not certain how it pertains to upsidedown. Good macro shot. Photo 8 Creative 7 Upsidedown 6 total 7

I like!
Could've benefitted only from being a lil sharper focus maybe.
Nice shot.

i'm so sorry you're so poor but that's a really cool picture.

I'd have rotated a couple more pennies so there was only one coin right-side up...

Cute title. I like your idea very much.
Color seems a bit off and I admit it may be my monitor.
Still good work and on target.

05/13/2002 06:40:00 AM
I like the shot but I am not sure if tails is upside down but I am still giving you a 7 because I like the shot.

Nice idea, well executed.

I do not see how this meets the chellenge of upside down, but its a very striking photograph and I have given it high marks for that.

So many pennies, so much bad luck. ;)
