what goldberry said - however my problem with this shot is the whole theme, there is very little `colour of benniton` on display here, and i think had you had more of the scarf/hat etc in shot, this would have done much better.
the pose is fantastic, spot on, and your daughter is very pretty - but this comes across more of a modelling shot for her, than a product. 8 |

I found some of the comments here interesting. But some people seemed to miss that all advertising is geared for a specific audience - not to everyone. A UCOB ad is most definetly not geared towards middle aged men. Sorry guys! That being said, it's a great reason why a lot of people weren't "sold" (pun intended) on this image deserving a 10.
It's a fantastic shot, and being a 20-something female (ie their target audience) this shot would probably get my attention and maybe even get me to buy that scarf :-)

Congratulations in another in a long line of great images. This is simply stunning. The color, lighting and composition in this image is incredible. This would have made a deserving ribbon winner in a tough challenge with loads of excellent pictures. |

Great photo that would make very useful stock. Is very emotive and could convey many different messages |

Great billboard. If this isn't Librodo, I may have a new favorite. My only minor complaints are that the shoulder(?) on the left creates an odd shape, and Benetton would show more of the brightly colored clothing. Still, one of my top 5 picks. |

I am sure I know whose great work this is, and it truly emerges as a beautiful and touching billboard. 10. |

Great comp, nice expression and fits the Benetton 'look' well. If anything, the image is a tad over-smoothed and lacks that key element that catches the attention. Normally a Benetton ad would have a twist in there somewhere, so I feel that, despite technical excellence in the photo, the theme is quite weak. Perhaps if she were dressed like a suicide bomber (whatever they look like) but still with that pretty face, etc. this would cause the right level of interest. |

I'd expect more 'message' from Benneton, but nevertheless it is a great and powerful photo. The body part at the left is a bit distracting / does not correspond with the subject.
The lighting, as ever (it looks like Manny) is interesting. :) |

Beautiful lighting, I really like the reflection in the eyes, seems very colorful.
Great composition, very nice expression of the model it is calm and exotic. |

My evaluation method of this challenge is as follows:
1. Did you catch my eye while I was driving by? Yes.
2. If I didn't catch the text while I was driving, did you intrigue me enough to look for this billboard again? Yes.
3. Did you sell your stuff to me? hmm....
4. Extra thoughts: Beautiful photo, wonderful lighting, nice colors.
The part of the hand (?) on the left is a bit distracting IMO. Also, just one model alone. The "united" is quite missing. (7) |

Great shot, but they sell clothes, right? I think you need to show a little more of the clothes in addition to the face to make it effective at advertising the clothes. |

ok, i am voting this challenge in 2 passes. in this pass, you will get a partial comment and a score. then i will come back to comment again. if you have any problem whatsoever with this comment, pm me and let me know. otherwise, take it with a grain of salt...i'm not trying to be a know-it-all, i'm just explaining where i'm coming from in voting this challenge. and, if this comment is NOT helpful (of if you think i'm full of $#!+), don't mark it helpful.
billboards are a science unto themselves. a lot of research has gone into determining just how much information a person can digest and retain in specific time spans. they use this information to develop formulas for determining the number of words and letters to use on billboards, as well as their sizes. they also determine the size and number of visual elements to include.
the graphics/photograph on a billboard are designed to get the point across in a moment. on the road, a driver will have less time with a billboard than a voter will give your image. this is a key element in the challenge: composing a shot that will get its point across quickly and succintly. along those lines, a strong composition will probably have few details and make strong use of negative space. |

There's an uneasy balance between harsh contrast and soft focus in this image. i wish you'd used some USM. Also, for a billboard, it's usually better to have the image leading into the text, so I'd have flipped the shot horizontally myself. Strong entry. |

originally gave you a 9 but on seeing this a second time i think a ten is well deserved. Great skin tones and use of color to highlight areas. the black shadows work very well as well. |
