 I guess there's going to be comments about not meeting the challenge. I lit the background purposely this way to add interest to the picture;
and the subject is the flowers which are pink, and not the dark stems. And yes, I think the texture on the wall adds interest, and is definitely better than a plain white background. Well, the truth is, I really like this picture a lot, and so I'm submitting it anyway, though it may not meet the most nitpicky interpretation of the challenge :). Let's see what happens to it!

The wall is oddly colored. Looks like remnants from the light source. Otherwise this is good.

good shot but could be improved by (a) placing pieces of black card either side of glass(outside camera range, this gives an edge to the glass. (b) the background needs to be lighter maybe by reflecting light back into it with a white card, you do need some distance between subject and background. 3

Very nice, like the composition here and the background. The broken glass sort of creeps up on you after a minute. Nice touch, gives a whole new dimension to what is going on here.
