I rated this picture quite low, because I thought it looked overly airbrushed. THe skin on her face looks full of makeup, and the rest of the image looks over-sharpened. Sorry.
But, when that is said, I accept the fact that the People has Spoken, and I can see why many people would like this image.

| Good job Sonifo! Nice win. You "only" used a 500W and 60W light for that? Amazing, it looks like a professional shot. Can you describe your lighting technique, placement of the lights, special equipment, etc. for some of us who don't know? |

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I didn't think I was going to get 1st. Being a cliche' and all. My daughter is thrilled to see her picture up on the home page. If anyone is interested I have posted the outtakes on pbase. //www.pbase.com/image/14549830 And click next from there. My favorite of the photos is Chandraya 4, but I didn't think it would do good in the challenge.

| This is just darling... One of my favorites for this challenge. The only aspect of the the photo that bugs me are those taps... Not a big deal at all, but plain black shoes wouldn't have been as distracting. Great Shot! |

Very pretty little girl! Lovely Portrait. . .
Composition is nice and simple
Idea is nice and original, well executed
Fits the Challenge, that's for sure!
Lighting looks great
Focus is excellent
Colours are fine
P:osturing of hands are just right, smile is great, eyes are smiling, what else could you ask for? This all adds up to a very striking/emotional St. Patrick's Day Portrait that you should be proud of, and I think it richly deserves a. . .10

good set up. nice pose and expression. great lighting. May I suggest a little tilt of her head to her right shoulder? Cutie.
Also.. her features are a bit distorted...i.e. did you take this at a wider angle, or maybe you were too close to her? Not overly pronounced, but I noticed. |
