This young boy was having a lot of fun chasing the birds down by the river. Don't worry, no birds were actually harmed in the making of this photo.

I had to crop a *lot* to get this, so yah, the quality is low, but it's a fun photo, and I LIKE it.. so NYAH. Still, after a 6.7 in Self-Portrait, I need another 4.x to drop my average back down to respectability.

Post Processing = Cropping, Resizing, colorization for duotone, sharpening, and triple layer work, applying gaussian blur to the first layer, using screen mode on the second layer at about 50%, and then darken only mode on the third layer to bring the contrast back up.

Was just having fun with this image.. glad people liked it.. yah, dumb border.. I knew it when I put it on, but I was just experimenting, and figured it would be a good time to do so.

As I said, this was cropped a *LOT*.. go here for the original:

As you see.. quite a crop. LOL.. so yah, it wasn't my post-processing that screwed it over, but just the fact that I had to go in so much.

Would have loved for the faded frame to have retained the sepia as well. Bumping up on good subject and composition.

A great photo spoilt by a very distracting border IMHO.

This would have been a ten but for the border. It really is a great capture and wonderfully composed, esp. hard with candids. Good job. Wish the border were absolutely not this, though..

I like the capture. I do feel, however, that the duck in the background is a bit superfluous.

Hmmm..... harassing the goose with a stick?? IMO, it's more woodshed worthy than photo worthy.

Title is excrutiatingly long. "Wild Goose Chase" would suffice. Nice shot though.

very nice shot. i like the action/movement that is very effectively captured. the boy and bird are a bit grainy i assume because of their movement (as the ripples in the water look fine). i don't like the border at all and the title is perhaps a bit too long (but those won't affect my scoring).

Your border ruined this photo in my opinion. I'm not too fond of the processing either. Other than that, this seems to be a terrific capture. I would be curious to see the original version. 7
