Dan,
Fabulous photo that speaks to the heart and mind. I for one wished it had done better... in every respect of the word 'photography' this one takes the gold medal. Well done, I'm watching and learning..

impossible to not appreciate this photo. It is great both in technical aspects and composition. I like how all the subjects are clear and bright and how the lighting hides the surrounding area. it is sad but art !

ok, it has all the patriotic elements and i understand the picture, but lighting should have been better, maybe making it more intimate, private...more sad.

Decent shot but a little too dark IMO. I feel it fits the challenge well. I do feel however that this looks staged a more candid feel would ahve done better for me. I also would like to have seen so soldier in the picture a little closser. .. a Dear Mrs. Doe .. your son private .... would have realy brought some tears to the eyeys. Nice job.

I think this would be better with a solid color background

Good lighting and composition. Cloning out the light areas just above her head would really help a distraction
