Camera: Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3
Location: under I-74 bridge on IL side of Q. Cities
Date: Feb 15, 2005
Aperture: f8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 15"
Galleries: Cityscape, Urban

Shot with a custom white balance to give the light a nice yellow tint. Increased the contrast slightly, used unsharp mask, played with blue levels slightly, and changed the color balance to highten the yellow tint of the light.

I think that people are thinking that mastication is something else. Mastication is the act of chewing or grinding. ;)

The colouring looks poor. Looks like you reduced it down to 256 colours and you lost some detail.

Very abstract! I usually don't go for high-speed films, this is actually a good use of it.
02/21/2005 03:44:20 PM
overprocessed?
02/21/2005 09:32:08 AM
A strange effect. I think of low-budget sci-fi filns looking at this. It looks a bit like where the ramp lowers from the flying saucer and the bright light shines from inside. Now I KNOW I've been sitting at this computer for too long.

I love the play of colors.
02/20/2005 04:40:12 PM
I don't get the title at all, otherwise an okay image, just not very interesting
02/19/2005 07:09:15 PM
I'm not so hot on this frame and the funky looking signal noise in the picture.
02/19/2005 03:53:58 PM
great shot but self-conscious title
02/19/2005 06:27:59 AM
The colors look a little over saturated and the photo seems a bit overprocessed.
02/18/2005 03:51:24 AM
who uses words like this? :)
02/17/2005 11:24:02 PM
Cool shot. It looks just like a painting.
02/17/2005 08:56:42 PM
Nice lines in photo but just a little too over-saturated for my tastes.
02/17/2005 04:10:10 PM
Hey - are you allowed to say that? ;-)
02/17/2005 01:05:39 PM
Way too much level/saturation/contrast adjustment!
02/17/2005 12:08:41 PM
very good AND/OR very bad....far be it from me to judge
02/17/2005 02:35:20 AM
I'm not sure if I like the noise or speckles. Otherwise nice composition and colors
02/17/2005 12:56:30 AM
This shot, seems a bit convoluted, a little like it's title. A bit too much harsh coloring and noise.
02/16/2005 10:12:30 PM
Yep; that's the first thing I thought when I looked at it. 6.

This picture looks too over-edited, as if you messed the curves up or pushed the saturation too far up. Use photoshop with moderation. For the rest, I don't understand your title (even though I'm sure it fits the challenge...somehow) and I find the large dark grey/brown area ugly and uninteresting. 3.

"Hey buster, get your hands off those saturation controls - you're not certified to operate heavy equipment"
02/16/2005 08:57:06 AM
Colors seem a bit off! Over saturated???
02/16/2005 07:51:14 AM
composition is very abstract, although a little grainy, it doesn't matter. Great job!
02/16/2005 05:05:32 AM
saturation is too much...lots of pixelation
02/16/2005 05:01:10 AM
BTW You probably shouldn't masticate in public!
02/16/2005 12:37:11 AM
Good gracious, what a title.
But where's the mastication?
02/15/2005 11:27:11 PM
Looks as if you really OVER edited this picture, might've had potential, ruined it.
02/15/2005 08:05:09 PM
don't know what the title mean, but it feels deep..
