This bridge was the first of Santiago Calatrava's work in the United States. It was opened for the first time on July 4, 2004 in Redding California. Go to Santiago Calatravia.com to see more of his work.
This view is from beneath the single pylon that the suspension cables are hung from. I used a Sigma 17-35 zoom at 17MM.

Great textures captured in the sky, the structure and the reflection. I do, however, find the patch of sky in the lower left somewhat distracting. Have you tried cropping it away?

Very simple and beautiful, this has a wonderful abstract feel to it. I love the colours and smooth lines - it feels simplistic and smooth, but there's so much detail and texture to be seen. Just gorgeous!

I like the abstract feel of this. We have to take your word for it that it's a bridge, though.

cool pic, a tighter frame would be better on my opinion

I had to look up the title because it was so weird. I see Calatrava is an architect, which pretty well removes the doubt about whether or not this is, in fact, a bridge--because without that background, it's pretty much impossible to tell.

This is a great abstraction. The range of tones is lovely--those gradients are very subtle and pleasant. (8)

It seems to be an interesting subject but it's hard for me to see the perspective without seeing the whole bridge

It's hard to make out the "bridge" part (since I don't recognize the bridge), but I do like the abstract look of the picture!
