Hi Lisa,
I'm not going to hide from anyone by a PM and wanted to apologize for the comment I made during the challenge: "Where's the bridge?"
I have no idea why I said that, as I clearly understood the shot. I was in a pissy mood around that time and also noticed I did not vote on it either. I quit voting on the challenge when I saw my score climbing and didn't want to have a biased opinion in the voting process.
For what it's worth, I would have given this a 7, and probably wouldn't have gone any higher due to the highlights being blown out.
Oh and may go back and unselect the "helpul" check box - it wasn't! LOL

Thankyou all for these 16 comments and those who gave 9's and 10's ! Yes I didn't like the blown out part and didn't want it there but there was nothing I could do to this particular shot. I had ones where there was no blown out area(finger) but the mantis was not in focus or in the wrong position. Very difficult to get it spot on. I had to settle with it. I also think voters couldn't see the bridge concept either in this hence the low scores.... |

I have seen some great bug pix in this challenge - and even when stretching the definition, they could all meet the criteria. But, Gosh, what a waste of perfect photographs that could have been entered under a more appropriate category. |

I always thought those insects were much larger! Nice idea, someone else took a similar picture. I like the DOF. The composition is not that interesting. 7. |

The finger seems overexposed at the top, as does the mantis. I find that a little off-putting. |

Excellent catch and composition. The highlights hurt it, but still an amazing photo. |

Beautiful moment. The finger is drawing too much attention due to the glaring white, but the rest is wonderful. |

Great macro shot! Looks like one of those motorized bridges you know!
Green is very vivid. The only thing that doesn't look that good to me is that bright spot on ur finger! 7 |
