Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Wildblue....
I think black and white was a good choice for this photo... the contrast is very strong for sure, and that usually lends well to monochromatic images. The 'from above' theme here seems to be just a little weak. I can see that I'm looking down hill though, but the overall impact of that angle doesn't seem to really grab my attention very well.
Another issue, in my opinion, with this photo is the lack of a strong subject or single focal point of the photo. The wall leads my eye into the photo but there is nothing of interest at the end of the line. The title also leads my mind to believe that there should be something there... something to see at the end of the 'brick road' :)
