This snapshot I took illustrates the elation I felt from having just returned home on my BMW "Adventure" ridding it for first time since my camera, motorcycle and I were run over by a hit & run driver in San Francisco (August 7, 2004). Upon my arrival home I also found that my camera was repaired and waiting for me on the doorstep. The smile was genuine & the adventure has been a good one! “EACHTRA” is the Irish word for "Adventure".

Yes it does in a way... i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

my first reaction to this is that it is more of a snapshot of you than an image that i would consider a portrait. but, as i look at it more, you have captured the essence of you, which is the whole purpose, isn't it? maybe it would have a bit more impact if it was more tightly cropped to your hands and face. all the same, good luck!

Returning for comment. Great capture of facial expression. Focus is a little soft, and this has a snapshot feel to it. Overall, the shot communicates happiness well.
