Hey this really is a good photo. I bet it took some shots to get the focus just right. People vote down borders, just say no to borders. :) |

An honest representaion with very good framing and head placement. The expression is casual and the look very sincere with the half twisted smile which adds an immediate deeper meaning to the character study. Cool. Bumping up. Returning for final bump. |

Nice composition, very soft.... (resemble Bill Gates just a bit). |

Bill Gates, yes? Well, even if you're not, this is a very instructive portrait. First because the crop gives it an intimacy that it would not have if your whole head was in the shot. And second because of the effective use of limited depth of field. Great all-round photographic skills, employed with subtlety and confidence. 8. |

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image to try to figure out what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.
excellent work. the focus, lighting, expression, and composition all come together to make this image. the eyes looking over the glasses are perfect--they go hand in hand with the hint of a grin. you look like you were actually having fun doing this. very well executed, i hope this does well for you. |

Outstanding self-portrait, just love the selective focus on this shot. Also, from the facial features seems like you are a polite and reserved person. Good Luck |

Great composition. I think this needed a bit more contrast. It is a little overall gray, but otherwise wonderful. |

this is awesome. the shallow depth is very effective in highlighting your face. the border's not my favourite, but it's not awful either. Magnificent lighting. very little reflection on the glasses...just a little on the rim above your right eye...a difficult feat indeed. well done.

this would be a lot better if your eyes were as sharp as your mouth. |
