Same as Jutilda....I thought Clay Aiken when I saw the thumbnail as well!

cold body in the road and your image should have been in the 2 or 3rd spot.

This is an excellent self portrait. Very unique and well executed. The white border was a great choice as well.

There were quite a few in this challenge that made me smile - but none did as good a job of that as this! Congratulations.

This was *my* highest rated. I love the humor involved.. and you sure have a penchant for green shirts. Nice job. You and I should have been #1 and #2. We can fight over which one later. Congrats on surving the DPC Popularity Contest :)

Oh ... my ... god ...!!!

An excellent shot, the blurring works really well and, well, I can't say anymore because it's impossible to stay serious while looking at this.

This is simply cool... I'm not a fan of what looks like manually added blur, but the overall efect is great. Well done.. 9

i have to guess this was blurred using a mask. the wrist seems like it should be in focus, if the eye and the knuckles are...

Great effect on this shot, almost looks like a 'lensbaby'. I really like it, good work.

Oh my! It's Clay Aitken! Seriously, I love the soft halo blur and the focus right in the centre. The shirt's not bad either.

I like this shot a lot for its quirkiness but also the surprisingly good effect of the selective blur. It would think the blur would look artificial - but it really draws the focus to your eye and your expression in a pleasing way.

This is really good! The apparently shallow depth of field works very well. I like the colors too. Well done!

that's pretty cool...is that graussian blue or a lens baby? Either way, looks really neat. I hope you get a ribbon -- this is clearly the best I've seen thus far and I'm about 95% through all the photos. Your border works well with the photograph too! g'luck 10!

Funny. The well focus eye radiates that jocular state which then is supported by fist and twirl in mouth. A good tiltle also. Bumping up.

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

what a killer expression! the lighting and focus are tops. not too keen on the colors, but, then again, this is an image that's all about you. i hate it when i'm wrong, but i have to guess lens-baby, as i know of nothing else to produce such a weird area of focus. well, whatever. this is a cool shot, and i hope it does well for you.

I think the green and grey combination works well for this photo. The pose is original. The blurring looks like PS work, and there is nothing wrong with that, but I wonder what it would have looked like just shot at F/1.8 or 2.8. Nice effect though and a good photo.

he he, cool. I assume the shallow DOF was done after-the-fact, but it's pretty convincing if you don't think too hard about it. nice and sharp on the stuff you meant to leave in focus. hilarious facial expression as well.

well done

This is one of my favorites in the challenge! The image is quirky enough, but the title is like a cherry on top for the humor! It makes me laugh out loud! Your expression is great, and the shallow depth of field works well here (I usually don't like it this narrow for a portrait). Your lighting is perfect as well. Bumping this up to a 10. Good Luck. By the way, my first thought was that Clay Aiken was participating this week!
