Challenge: Self-Portrait III (Advanced Editing IV)

I wanted to come up with a fairly original portrait for this challenge, and I had fun doing this. It is a little play on the popular optical illusion that can be seen as either 2 faces looking at eachother or a vase.

In total darkness, I set the shutter speed to 10 seconds, and set the self timer. I then dashed infront of the camera and switched on and off a desk lamp twice as my "flash" to illuminate the two different positions. It was a little difficult to get my posture, expressions, height, and lighting similar enough to work. I also wanted to make sure the two faces were close enough so a "vase" was recognizable between them.

I only wish I had some better lighting equipment so I could setup real flashes and activate them remotely. That's on my todo list.

desaturated
cropped
resized
tiny USM
added border
increased contrast a little
burned a few small distracting highlights

Like the lighting used for this shot. Wish it was a little sharper.

Well shot, is there a mirror, or multi-exposure?

Hey, I always like a bargain. A couple of inches closer and we would have the glass effect. Good lighting and expert shaving.lol Bumping up.

Highlights are overblown for my tsates; all texture is lost on the neck area. Needs a bit more balance between the top and bottom.
