Very strong image - the scarring is interesting. |

Nice idea - I wanted to do this shot, but settled on something else. Decent job, it's well in focus. I feel I want less on the bottom of the shot and more of the fingerboard, to me that would be a more interesting composition. |

For me the only thing that takes away from this image somewhat is the lighting - I would have liked to see it a little warmer and without the harsh reflections (IMHO). Wonderful idea for the challenge. |

I really feel that a touch of sharpening would really make this image 'pop'. |

Love the cello, warm tones, though the strings seem just a wee bit blurred. Great alternative to the other entries. |

Nice idea. Try filling the frame with the bridge and strings. |

I like the fact that you used some imagination in selecting this type of bridge. |

It's not clear to me that of all the bridges to be found among the viols this is the most perfect one: it seems to be of very different vintage than the rest of the instrument and I find that distracting; I love the body of the instrument especially its worn details. And I like the ebony finger board (or whatever it is) but the bridge doesn't have the right 'patina.' |

The first one i saw was pretty OK.
Seems not to be too original idea any more...
The strings should be sharper, i think. |

Cool idea. The bridge looks a little soft though. |

Interesting variant on the subject. The shot could have been a bit crisper as a closeup. Good composition |

Hurrah nonliteral interpretation!
Looks like the lighting is a table lamp or something of the sort. A nifty trick to avoid unsightly highlights is to stick a piece of cardboard or the like between the subject and the light source- this makes the lighting indirect and thus even and subtle. |
