On a related note... It surprised me to find that I had a revelation while reading your notes. I don't think I had ever truly realized that my impression of my appearance (self-image) had always been a mirror image (or 180 degree variance) of what other people see. I'm sure this comes as no great shock to you and most other readers. Just chalk it up to me being blonde, but after 41 years, this finally dawned on me after seeing this shot and I have an entirely new perspective on how I'm seen. LOL |

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.
very clever idea, definitely one of the more interesting submissions i've run across. i feel, though, the lighting is a bit too strong in some area, creating too much contrast between the near blowouts and the black background. all the same, this is something i definitely would like to try. thanks for the idea! 8 from me. |
