Very unusual. Sodium lamps produce such glaring, garish light. Not sure I like it much.

A great effect which rises to a work of art. The technique and excecution along with the lighting help in weaving this magical spell. Bumping up.

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image as a guinnea pig as to what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

interesting and bold submission, definitely not something i would have consider. as such, i'm as much in wonder of who you are as to what you want to convey in an image as this. the range of light and color is very interesting, as well.

Returning for comment. A good idea. With regard to composition, you might consider cropping out more of the space above the head, so that it appears in the top third of the frame rather than dead center. Overall, stronger than many of the other submissions.
