:: Hello from the Critique Club ::
............................................................
Well, this little fella isn't going to win many beauty contests. Never mind. In his own way he is beautiful, just not typically so. He's got cute eyes and an interesting nose, so we have something in common.
As far as a critique goes, much has been already said below, but I classify this as a snapshot, so my critique as based around a shot that has no forward planning, set-up, pre-conceived ideas, etc.
Good points:
> It's well composed with the subject filling the frame
> Subject is unusual
> You've captured an elusive(?) creature
Bad points:
> Flash has caused tonal imbalance
> Focus should be on eyes (stop down and you'd get more focal range, but low light would make this impractical with a moving subject)
> Colours are drab and uninteresting so it's not appealing to most, apart from 'educational' value
Hope this helps
Cheers

To me this is not that appealing of a photo, just a bad subject IMO. |
