 Yes, selective desat - how clichéd. I can't resist taking pics of my new little model, my son Michael, who came home from hospital today after a week in the special care baby unit.

The pink is very subtle and the shot benefits from a long viewing so I can see lots of 3s & 4s coming my way from people who are quick to judge.

Who cares what score it gets. It's just good to see the little fella in his own cot at last.

Still not sure what those people who say they can't see ANY pink are looking at. That thing in the middle, the newborn baby - he's PINK!!

Thanks for all the kind commments. I agree he is adorable, although I wasn't saying that at 3am this morning when I couldn't settle him :)

heida has made this one of her favourites and that is just about the highest compliment I can think of on this site.

Beautiful portrail. Emotive, and the baby's expression is sweet. The pink (fleshpink) is there and is subtely dominant, so it meets the challenge. I find my eye drawn to the print on the vest, so if you were to reshoot this I'd consider a plain vest.

Very gorgeous baby you have here, seems content ... oh that's right it's sleeping ;-) Anyway I think that the light is too bright and it's taking away from the baby's pink skin (which I think was the intent of this photo). Yes, very cute baby.

Nice cute picture. For me there just seems to be too much white making the skin tones (pink) a very small part of the composition. I might have have done a 5x7 crop (vertically) and omitted the bed railing that is just a tad bit distracting. Still a very calm, peaceful photo.

What a great baby shot! This one should be a poster! Border not distracting, but also not needed. Would improve the end quality for me at least a point.

Very nice. My recommendations would be to make the black/white on the right look like the left to balance things out.. Cute baby!

So completely precious. :-) I absolutely love the lighting you used here and the use of negative space as well. Such a light, airy clean feeling shot. My only nitpick is the shirt slightly covering the little grin. But overall an outstanding shot. Might get knocked by some for not enough "pink" which is a shame cause what could be considered more pink than a new born. :-) Best of luck! 8
