 I guess one may call this a tribute to faidoi's 'Sunset' image that got 4th place in the Re-revisted.

One might also say that I have been planning out this image for an entire year. Ever since I didn't do so well in last year's challenge, I have kept an eye out for possibilities in the likilyhood of it happening this year. So, when I saw the challenge, this was the shot that was in my mind, well actually this shot and this shot.

I had to work around the "Fireworks Prohibited on Beach" sign, so I went with more of a 'painting with light' style because the sign was lit by flashlight.

Editing: Minor Rotate, Contrast, Color Balance (lil more purple and reds), Hue/Saturation, Minor Dust and Scratches (for the annoying white dot in the middle of the cross section of the sign), USM

fabulous colors, and the sign is just light enough to read. It doesn't feel like it was touched-up (if it was at all, which I can't tell).

Beautiful colors in this seascape shot. The foreground seems too dark to appreciate the variation of texture between the dune grasses (barely visible in the lower left of the frame) and the sand. The horizon lines is placed just right, at that "rule of thirds" proportion. I love the soft lighting on the road sign, inviting us past the sign to the ocean.

That is a gorgeous photo...i love the colors in the sky and in the water. It is just gorgeous, I love it and the sign is cute because it is ocean ave. and thats how i would picture a beach at like 6 on a beautiful day
