I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for their comments during this challenge. I was very happy with the results from this photo.
My goal for this shot was to de-emphasize the crossbuck, yet have it as an important element to the composition. I was able to get the DOF very shallow by using a big lens: a 170-500mm at about 175mm. With this lens, I have to be very careful about focus, but fortunately it worked a treat this time.

I think this was one of the best looking pics in this contest. I love the way you blurred the crossing signs and made the light in focus.

| On further review this is too sweet a shot for a 7 you get the bump to eight for great restrained color control and perfect DOF |

| Creative way to shoot the crossing signals. I like your use of depth of field. Just remember to keep your eyes and ears open around the trains. |

| Nice photo. Probably the only photo in this challenge that the sign isn't the main subject but goes well in the photo. Excellent colors and clarity and great choice of DoF. well done and good luck in this challenge. <8> |

| Those are lights not signs! Perhaps it can be up for interpretation...I'll give you that. Afterall, they are giving you a "message". Composition is very nice. Not a fan of the yellow X in the background though. |
