Lighting is a bit harsh, but the juxtaposition is beautiful. 8. |

Wow, i love the greyscale effect and the sharpness that blurs out into the background. Good going. |

I would crop in closer on the acorns |

This is a nice idea - but the lighting on the acorns is not enough.
May be if they were a bit closer. |

I would love to see this shot in colour and with fresh green accorns! Good concept, but just don't know about the b/w... |

the only drawback for me is the size of the acorns (at first sight, the picture lacks the "main theme") |

Challenge: 6 I like the idea of the old tree and the seed for a new one.
Composition: 7 I like how the picture takes me to the seeds then to its counter part old tree trunk.
Technical: 7 nice sharp picture I can see the grains in the tree.
Appeal: 6 I getting moved by the picture slowly.
Overall: 6

Great idea. I wish that the texture of the acorns was a bit clearer (like the stump). |

I would like to have seen more detail in the acorns, they seem a little lost in the shadows.
Nice fit to the challenge. |

I just like this photo, it appeals to me in a way that is hard to explain. The simplicity of nature, well captured. This image has you forgetting about composition, contrast, etc. (they are all good, But...) the long shadows, the blury old oak in the background gives \\\"meaning\\\" and mood. Wow, the more I look at it the more I like it. Exceeds the challenge. One of 3 \"10\"s from me. |

I wish the Acorns were a tad bigger or that you would have focused on them a little closer, the shade on the Acorns is a little long, wasn't able to see them right away |
