I don't know very much about indoor lighting. I prefer to shoot outdoors. I had a hard time preventing over exposure on the iPod. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

kaush - yeah the cd player really works... much to the disappointment of a few of the voters. They felt that ruined the old aspect of the record player. Honestly, I think they have a point. I should have thought of that myself. lol
Anyway, this was my first challenge and I'm not too upset with the way it turned out.
Hopefully I'll do better next time.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to vote and I appreciate all the comments.

Does that cd player really work - or is it just for show?

I like this. The right side is a little bright though

When your entry is so similar to a dozen others you really have to nail it to make it stand out from the crowd. Unfortunatley, I don't think you quite nailed it this time.

The biggest problem I can see is that the old-looking machine in the background is actually a CD player with a digital display which sort of detracts from the theme - it's not old enough.

I still find that my 78's have a wonderfull tone to them.
The cylinders are not as good though....

It feels crooked to me - straightening it out would be helpful.

That "old" phonograph has a CD player?

like this idea but would be better if the record player didn't have a digital display and cd player...does kind of show the time line of music though...needs a 8 track player lol.

This shot work wouldv'e worked better if it were an actual old record player, not one with a CD player in the front.

it was excellent to put only the big old style cd player ... it is old and new in the same box :D

Ipod is a little blown out. Nice idea though.
