Everyone is doing this idea or at least alot of people. This would be better if the flame of the fire wasn't going and spreading in a one directions but that is my opinion. So, other wise great work and great center and focus. I see nothing wrong with it. 10

I don't see old and new here, sorry. What I see is differnt light sources. What you've got is good, I like the wisps of smoke on the right side. I just don't think this is particularly strong to the challenge. 5

Windy day? A stationary flame would have done this picture lots of good. A little blur would have gotten rid of a lot of graininess in the blue background.
