I really like this photograph & am surprised that it didn't do better in the challenge. Perhaps a slightly different angle would have done better, but still one of my favourites due to the content.

The colorless image of the grandmother makes this composition all the more meaningful, I like it a lot

At first, I found the monitor a bit distracting, and then I realized that was likely a second "old and new" aspect of the picture--the old photo on the computer screen. I think the three elements in the photo (the old woman, the child and the monitor) make it difficult to find the right elements to emphasize. I find my eyes pulled towards the monitor buttons instead of the child, for instance. I wonder if there would have been some other way of conveying the fact the photo was on a monitor but de-emphasizing the monitor portion so that the two people in the picture have focus?

Cool way to present your idea, the monitor looks slightly tilted to me but grandma look straight ....anyway I like it.
