Greetings Frank.

You̢۪ve certainly taken a photograph of a lovely old landscape that I̢۪m sure you thought would meet the Challenge, but with no bridge in sight, I̢۪m not so sure.
The colors of the brickwork come out just lovely, and I can just imagine the labor and work that would have gone into making such a building in the days that this dates back to. Is there a moat all around the Castle?
Your focusing is fine for what you show us, but what you do show is very limited to the corner of the building and the railings, plus the trees across the way.
You would have been much better to shoot across by the trees and show us the entire Castle with the bridge so we would have something more with which to compare and judge by.
I read in one of the comments below about your photo being too dark, but with the time of year and the weather permitting in various parts of the world, we are limited with what we get by Mother Nature. Of course, once at home we can always lighten it up on our computer, but even I am still trying to learn these things.
Your composition is good and strong and your focus also works for you as I said above. Your thought is creative and unique and your dof is quite good. But there is nothing really in your photo to grab my attention.
This is only your first entry into the DP Challenge, so take your time, look at other photographs that have been entered into other Challenges, go out and shoot some more, enter your shots into more Challenges, learn more, keep shooting, and I hope to see more of your work next month and the month after that too.
Regards,
Ed
