My cousin's neighbour is a dairy farmer, so when I visited, I went into the rolling fields and took pictures of cows as the went down the hill.
Choosing a photo for best of year is difficult; there's so many to choose from, and what would appeal to the DPC voters? In the end, I chose this one because I thought it would be one that my sister would likely have a print of on her wall!

lol this is great. the composition makes the cow appear to have some higher purpose, like it's on a mission. nice job. :)

I wonder what it is about the bovine form which makes it so attractive to use in "negative space" compositions. I'm glad you chose this one instead of "Cow Leaving" : )

hahaha I saw this photo and started to laugh. Altho I find it a fairly boring photo I find it drawing me into the photo. Nice colors and excellent clarity. I think this would make for a nice milk calender entry. Good luck and keep up the good work in 2005. <7>

too funny

I love the humour in this. I would have liked to get a little of the other foreleg in the shot, but it's not a big deal.

This one made me laugh. :-))) Simple and humorous. :-) I wish the cow was a bit more sharp and greens a bit more saturated green.

It think the grass and cow could use a little more saturation....but otherwise I LOVE this pic. So simple and yet so interesting. Did you crop it like that or take it like that?

hehehe, nice take, no doubt inspired by cowspace (check the site favourites page if it wasnt). Love the composition here, the negative space is great. THis would work better with a more level patch of green grass, but still, I do like this image for its simplicity. 7.

I like it! A polarizer might have helped tremendously to darken grass and sky. The blue and green need the same saturated color as the cow. BOL

This is great. I love the hues. The way you've cropped this makes it an interesting picture.

oh how i hope people get this. i mean, not the obvious part, but i mean really GET IT. :)

wonderful. could have even gone with less green and more blue in my mind, but that's not a criticism. just an opinion.

very nice.

Would make a great poster on a wall opposite the 'Cowspace' photo! Just wish it were a little darker and the colors a little more saturated - 7

Nice, but needs a lkittle contrast on sky and grass.

one more leg in the picture would have been nicer for my taste , great simple set-up though

Great work, I love how you have captured or cropped the cow to one leg.

Very nice use of negative space. The cow is just briliant, the contrast of the black with the blue is just great. Very nice i really like it.
