I don't know what I was thinking really. Maybe I was just looking for an angle nobody would do. A Stephen King movie I figured might do the trick.

Nice selective desat...some missed on the dress but that goes with the basic rules. Very dramatic.

I would have liked the light further away from her to illuminate more of the face, but still, bloody powerful! 8

Good creativity. I think the crop on left was to close to profile [straight line down dress]. IMO cropped outward or inward a bit would of been better. Destracted by the burned areas of the dress.

If you would have changed the angle of the light slightly or diffused it you wouldn't have run into the problem of parts of the dress desaturating when you desaturated the rest of the photo.

Dramatic lighting. Cool idea to choose selective desat. Wish the blood wasn't such a bright red, it loses some impact.

i wish i knew how to selectively saturate :-) the positioning in the frame is great, and that red just punches me in the face!

i like the concept, but i don't care much for the gray desaturated areas on the dress

Awesome shot. The selective desat definitely works very well in this case. I like the dramatic use of lighting/shadows. Good intrepretation on the challenge. Well done.

Does this really meet the challenge? I think it does, even though you have to have seen the movie. A 7
