What a beautiful shot. It is in my mind one of the best portraits on this site. I have marked it as a favorite. |

I think you're stunning. Nice to see a photographer going out on a limb and putting themselves in front of the lens instead of staying behind it! This was one of my favourites, definetly thought it should have been higher. But, hey, what do I know? |

As a composition and idea it is great, but...
This is about a girl with a pearl earring and while you follow Vermeer's way of lighting (the opposite site of the face facing the window light) I feel that there is not enough light on the left side of the face. The contrast between the left side and the right side is a bit too strong.
Again, like Vermeer, the light in the eyes is at the outside of the pupils, but it might have worked better a little bit more inward.
I have rated this a 9 because it is still a nice portrait and you follow Vermeer's lighting actually. But for my feeling it misses that liitle bit extra, else it might have been a 10.

Very nice. I really like your lighting here. Cool how you've brought out the earring from the dark. Like the composition. Great expression on your model. Awesome job, one of my favorites. |

that's gorgeous! it's very emotive, with the girl easily conveying the struggle to take things one day at a time. also, that earring just floating in the shadow of her face immediately calls attention to it. |

Terrific. And I think the fabric (shawl?) adds to the image. Nice lighting and very thoughtful composition. 8. |
