i keep coming back to this image over and over, and i still don't know what to make of it. i like it. it has some very interesting qualities. the composition and focus are incredible. there is nothing i can add here except to say, "good luck!"

Well that's visually spectacular & pretty good for the challenge subject. There's some sort of spiderweb or thread near the bottom; -1 = 7

I love the composition and the way the shallow DOF works for this subject. The shot might look better without the spider web, but that's a minor distraction in an otherwise outstanding photograph. Really nice job.

This would be an interesting image without shallow depth of field simply because of the wonderful composition created by the strong points of focus and curving lines. But the way that shallow depth of field has transformed much of the image into this incredible soft yet textured blur just takes it to another level. The lines aren't just blurred, they seem to blend across each other in a most pleasing way. One of my top 11 in this challenge.

beautifully done,,reall appealing shape to this image, shame about the spiders web (I presume) on the bottom two stems

One of my favorites so far, and I'm not even sure it's bokeh in terms of the way the word is being defined in the forums. But the out-of-focus background certainly enhances the subject of the photo, so I'm giving this at least a 7 and may come back to bump up later.

Bumped to 8, may come back for another bump later.....

Lovely shot. I think the bokeh effectively enhances, not only isolates, the tips. Web a bit distracting, but not a big issue. 7

Great take on the challenge. Great lines and colour. There are some halos on the upper most points but hey (10)

The bokeh in this is very subtle; it's hovering between shallow DOF and true bokeh IMO. Otherwise, a simply stunning image.

would be much better without the little spider web 7
