I know this shot is not a winner for the best of 2004 and it will most likely score low, but I like this image with the grain and all. I was going to use this for a past challenge, but I changed my mind at the last moment fearing it would not do well. So here it is in the best of 2004. I probably should pull it but I'm not going to.

I could not use my most favorite shot of 2004 it was used in a challenge :)

nice capture. love the details in the feathers. i do find the surf and/or the noise in the surf to be a bit distracting from your subject, though; maybe a slightly tighter crop might help.

What great timing in capturing this little guy grooming itself. Lovely exposure, but why B&W? I think it's an injustice to desaturate this scene. I'm tempted to take this into Photoshop and put color back in. :-)

hehe, great title. better photo. 8. Black and white is really efffective in this image. The tonal variation between the wet and dry sand is great.

Strong DOF and great focus. Like the choice to go with B&W. Nice shot.

You've gotten quite close to this seagull, I know how hard that can be (or you have an excellent telephoto). I like how you've captured the wave roaring in behind.
