 Some kind of red flower, shot against a background of Marguerite Daisies in a planterbox across the patio at my son's school. A teensy bit fuzzy focus on the flower as there was a breeze ...

Interestingly, this worked pretty well with my Olympus, while I could never get a decent focus/composition with the Canon.

Macro mode, handheld, diffuse sunlight.
Reduced and cropped to 3:2 ratio; slight tone adjustment with RGB Curve; two applications of USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH=5; JPEG=9/10

You need to focus better on your subject, and the big gray foreground detracts.
Bokeh on the rear flowers looks good. If you could have done the whole background like that you would have scored much better.

i would have liked to see the flower not so washed out, but i think compsitionally its a nice photo - 7

The bokeh here is great, no question about that. However, the flower seems to be most in focus around the leaves rather than the bloom, personally I'd prefer the bloom to be sharper.
