 Shot the egg in front of back-lit green background. Turned gold for some reason, maybe because it was 1000watts of light? Used a 100W front light also. Cropped image with egg in vertical position. Rotated 127 degrees to the right to level the egg horizontally. Then filled in the resulting white corners with color similar to the background. Then Levels to adjust the egg color slightly (make a little colder looking and greener like it should be). Unsharp Mask at about 1.7. Resized to 640 x ??? pixels.

How did you get the egg to seem suspended in space? It is good to see the occasional "other" type of egg rather than the standard white or brown, especially one with such a lovely color and textured surface.

interesting shot, but I think a diagonal orientation could possibly make it stronger and add some more visual impact... - setzler

Wo....darn...had to cut the last 'w' off. This is completely incredible...love the textures, colors, and composition...is that a border or a backdrop? OOPs...completely incredible except for that big ol' hot spot on the egg. I'd love to see this sans hot spot. I bet some people like it though :)

I'm having some problems with the border you chose to use here. How did it look with a plain band or maybe no border at all?

The photo is so two dimensional, it's too bad. I also don't like what you did to the corners. Nice focus, a little glare in the middle of the egg, nice colors.
