ok, please bear with me. voting this challenge is extremely difficult, not just because of the size, but because we are dealing with images that people consider their best. it makes even constructive criticism hard...
for all intents and purposes, this is a snapshot documentary image of a cannon. the colors are nice, but the fort wall doesn't add enough context to create any visual drama, which is what is necessary to generate votes and comments in a challenge. i do hope you are getting some comments and suggestions, and not being lost in the shuffle of this monster-size challenge. if you aren't getting the scores and comments you wanted, please don't take it personally; just consider it a starting point for the rest of the year. good luck! |

I like the multi-layers and the bright red canon. I could easily see this shooting because of the extra space you left. the colors are nice and simple. Pretty solid photo, but nothing that says "wow" to me. |

The light is a bit uninteresting and the subject doesn't wow me. Nice composition though. |

The red on the cannon really stands out against the grass and wall. Nice placement of the subject (cannon). I also like the cloudy sky- it sets the mood to think of past battles. |

This is a pleasant image, but seems to lack that extra something to make it jump out at you. I think I might try a couple of shots of the canon a bit cloer in, so that all you have as a background is the blurred wall. |

I very nice piece of history. i just feel that you needed to be really close to this - to see some detail of the mechanics and textures of the workmanship. If you'd been very close you could have used a low f stop (around f8) and focused on the gun sharply and quite good focus on the wall in the background.
As it stands there's too much in the shot that's unnecessary. |
