It looks like you used a flash that didn't fill the subject. |

The flash in this picture is really too harsh. Some alternate source of lighting might have saved it. |

Would this have worked better in portrait? That way the flowers to the left, which IMO are distracting would not be in the picture. The colors in the foreground are a little washed out - looks like a difficult subject to photograph though. |

I think a little too much emphasis on his crotch...stray plants off to the left. Vertical framing might have helped. |

That's a nice picture. Was it at night and were you using your flash? That's what it looks like. A change in lighting is necessary, that or turn the flash off and open your aperture all the way and slow the shutter speed to let the light in. |

I think there is too much light on the front of the statue. |

This is an interesting statue photograph. I like the angle of this shot too. The only issue I have with this shot is that the 'belly' area of this statue has, what I like to call, a 'hot spot'. This is an area where the light is a little too bright on the photo. I believe your flash may have caused this. When this happens, you can either try to set your flash to a lower power mode or you can veil the flash with something like a piece of sheer cloth material or something to reduce and disperse the light away from the subject just a little. Sometimes, scotch tape can be used to achieve this... |
