God, I hate this challenge!! For two weeks I've agonized over 20+ images captured during the past year, - in the end flipping a virtual coin... There were a couple that I actually prefered to this one, but - yes, I must say it - I'm after votes, and I believe the image you see here just has more mass appeal. I live just a 15 minute drive away from Niagara Falls, and have seen this natural wonder countless times.
This one was taken of the Rainbow (American) Falls from the Canadian side. Several others were taken that evening with the beautiful colored lights that the Canadians use to illuminate both the Rainbow and Horseshoe Falls. The white illuminated falls as shown here just stands out much better.
Little post-processing was done, other than levels, color saturation, and USM, plus some minor cloning to cover a hot spot on the Falls.
Thanks for looking, commenting and/or voting. |

It's a balloon, folks, NOT the moon! ;-) LOL |

There are lots of photos of Niagara, but the balloon (?) in the background playing the role of the moon makes this a bit different. |

Did you do something to the moon, doesn't look round. Good apart from that/ |

Is that the moon in the upper left? Why the blue spot? Maybe it's a balloon rather than the moon. In any case, I like this shot quite a bit, the water looks really good, but the mysterious round thing is distracting. If it's not the moon it's just plain distracting, if it is the moon it's distracting because there's something wrong with it. If it looked like a nice natural moon that belonged in the scene it would be ok. |

Stunning composition and detail.
By far, one of the better submissions in my opinion. ((9)) |

Great crisp photo. Moon looks almost like a paper lantern! |

I was planning to shoot the falls very soon. Its either a double exposure or your time delay was a little to long. It left some kind of blur in the moon and I find it very distract. Cleaning the moon up would have improved this shot a lot. Well done. Keep up the good work. <9> |

The falls look good. Nice veiling. The moon looks worked on...it looks like two different tones, it's funny shaped, and there's a block of color/blue on the lower left of it...
Edit: Thanks for explaining that that is a balloon and not a manipulated moon. :-) For a split second I thought it could possibly be a balloon...but I don't ever remember seeing one and well, I still thought it was a moon... So, I'm sorry about that! Thanks for clarifying. |

Well it's a really pretty waterfall, but there isn't really too much to separate this from any other shot I've seen of the niagra falls - You clearly can handle a camera, so don't be afraid to get a little creative with you angle - rather than settling for straight on, centred tourist shots like this.
Good Luck !! |

Quite stunning. Beautiful separation of skyline, breathtaking light on the falls. |
