Good resolution, hope you stick to it!
Now what I see, over all I like the shot, the brightness of the sun is not over powering but close. I give you a 7

A very poignant image. Nicely framed int he shooting. I wish he were sharper and the highlights mellower

A very good new years resolution to have, we need more parents like that. Now to your photograph. It looks like a snapshot with very little planning. I would of picked a different setting to take the shot with a less distracting background and maybe include yourself in the picture to potray more emotion. Your subject has a very vivid light source that causes burnout on the right side of the face and neck along with a portion of the color. Other than that Good focus and color. Love the red hair/auburn hair. 5

Great resolution. I like the composition. I think it might score better if there had not been a shadow across his face. :)

THIS is a resolution you should NOT break! Life is short, in 10 minutes that kid'll be driving and five minutes after that, away to college, then gone to a great job on the other side of the world... enjoy him while you can.

Interesting composition. The lighting on the face is a little harsh, but I like his expression - it's a very warm and loving photo.
