 Simple setup and first attempt at low-key lighting. Didn't have a black backdrop so I used a black t-shirt draped over a cardboard box. Built another stack of cardboard boxes to gain ideal perspective for the camera to rest on since my tripod doesn't go that low (1 foot off the ground). Turned off all the lights in the room including the computer monitor, set the timer on the camera, then handheld a flashlight directly above the scene with a piece of paper covering it to diffuse the light.

Slight dodge and burn to the bottom of the shoes to reveal the outline ever so subtle, just so it didn't look like the shoes and watch were floating in black space. Dodged some highlights back into the watch face, unsharp mask.

I'd rate this more highly if the watch were better lit and placed, it seems an afterthought. Lighting on the shoe is dramatic.

A sports watch would have helped the picture, hard to think of you exercising wearing that watch

Probably would have been better without the watch and the big dark spot in the middle of the shoe. But I do like the black/white
