The eye is drawn to the high contrast of the box, which is out of focus, rather than the subject: the cigarette. The side of the box pulls the viewer's eye out of the frame. Concentrating on the cigarette and increasing the exposure would aid the composition (bringing up the whites and allowing the texture of the tobacco leaves to be seen), but it's a rather uninspired setup.
Just my opinions, of course. |

Very smooth -- adding a bunch of blank space above would be interesting I think, as if the current photo was only the bottom 1/3 or so. Just a thought |
