I appreciate all of the comments. Popular opinion is that I should not have used the radio. I took a bunch of shot without the radio, then thought that adding the radio might add interest. I was wrong. Thanks to the "hams" that said howdy, de Pete N4BHB

I thought that was a ham radio, but wasn't completely sure. Used to be pretty involved, haven't done much in a couple of years though. I really liked the picture, too. The structure really pulls your eyes upward. Good job-

I guess I know why the cel phone is there, but It doesnt add to the image. I think it would've looked better without it.

Brilliantly clever
05/05/2002 07:31:00 AM
I feel this shot it ruined by the phone being in the foreground. IMHO
05/05/2002 05:03:00 AM
Great framing, but you probably could have got away with not having the handset in shot
05/04/2002 06:20:00 PM
cool comp, nice shot
05/04/2002 03:33:00 AM
A very strong geometric picture. I think some of the effect was lost by not centering the expanse of the tower, giving all three sides an equal role. How was the reception?
05/03/2002 02:17:00 AM
I like the symetry of this shot.
05/02/2002 08:28:00 PM
I love how your eye is drawn up into the tower. having the phone there is a nice idea but If somehow it could have been smaller I would have liked it better. The sky gives nice, needed color. Good work!
05/02/2002 03:43:00 PM
Interesting composition. I think the image would be better without the cell phone... just the design of the tower.
05/01/2002 08:46:00 PM
not pleasing to my eye
05/01/2002 06:07:00 AM
Phone seems underexposed to me. I'm not sure whether you needed the phone at all ... the tower from this angle has plenty of patterns and lines to create interest. Still liked it anyway
05/01/2002 05:33:00 AM
Good angle! Personally, I would've preferred the shot w/out the walkie-talkie. But it is well done.
04/30/2002 12:41:00 PM
even though it tiesd in I htink the handset ruins this pic
04/30/2002 07:45:00 AM
Good Composition
04/30/2002 06:30:00 AM
I like how the tower extends all the way to the top of the frame. I wonder if I'd like it better without the radio (?) in front...
04/29/2002 11:10:00 PM
Think your signals getting out with this one?
04/29/2002 05:25:00 PM
Is that radio supposed to be there? Cause it would have been better without it. I like it though.
04/29/2002 01:43:00 PM
Nice shot, but I think I'd like it even more without the walkie talkie or whatever that is in the foreground.
04/29/2002 12:37:00 PM
Challenge nailed!
04/29/2002 11:52:00 AM
Just a little dark, nice work.
04/29/2002 10:33:00 AM
Oh no... it was such a cool photo but you killed it with the cheesy radio in the middle. get rid of that and just wait for some clouds to pass and you've got a great photo.
04/29/2002 09:46:00 AM
i think this pic would have been better without the radio. the top-half of this photo is great
04/29/2002 08:44:00 AM
I would have rated this very high if the cellphone wasn't there. Unless it is part of the structure....
04/29/2002 07:36:00 AM
Great picture. Very creative.
04/29/2002 06:45:00 AM
i like this. I love the way the bars zig-zag all the way up showing the perspective even more. I just wish the walkie talkie thing there would've been a little clearer.
04/29/2002 06:35:00 AM
This is a nice shot! I like the radio in the foreground.. I wish the radio had a tad more focus... Cheers from a fellow ham... 73 de KD4YJO SK
04/29/2002 06:26:00 AM
very nice geometry
04/29/2002 05:56:00 AM
Kind of dark. Could have messed with the levels.
04/29/2002 05:16:00 AM
okay, this is definitely from the ground up, however, in a picture like this, i think it's really important to have everything centered, and this one isn't, which takes away from its greatness
04/29/2002 04:59:00 AM
nicely framed and interesting foreground addition.
04/29/2002 01:49:00 AM
Would of been a 10 pointer if it didn`t have the dj-g5 in it. The height/depth of the picture is great.
04/29/2002 01:38:00 AM
Holy big antena! Love the geometry. I think the picture would have been move captivating without the cell phone in the picture. Good work though.
04/28/2002 09:22:00 PM
My absolute fave. I would have done something similar if I had found this site before now.
04/28/2002 09:04:00 PM
Had any funny headaches recently?? =) Nice angled lines!!
04/28/2002 09:00:00 PM
I like the concept here. Excellent composition. I like the natural look of the scene. You caught a great piece of sky and exposed for it will keeping the tower well exposed. If you would have focused just beyond the hyperfocal distance to keep the radio in focus you would have had a winner by my eye. I rated this photo high. Keep up the good work.
